Review:
Not to be confused with the 1986 Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos, although some of the mecha looks similar, maybe I'll look into that someday.  Maybe the series are related somehow.
I'm not too sure if I like it it or not.  The Mecha designs are good, the characters are fair, the plot however leaves much to be desired.  They make these talking, living, trnsforming super robots, then it turns out that only 10-12 year olds can properly pilot them, and they are not using them to right evil.  These robots are to work in high risk emergencies.  The ending credits and the show shows these 10 year olds fighting fires, doing medivac, and rescue operations.  Maybe. it's just me but these seems something to be very, very wrong in that.
The cast depite the young age of most of them (and one being a talking dog) are fairly good, each one with thier own problems and personality conflics, you know if these chraters were maybe a bit more mature and ten years older is might just work.
Most of the mecha is good (Although CG. What, people can't draw mecha anymore?) There are four main robots and each one has four back up/assistant mechas when can combine with the main one to become a bigger robot.  I have seen three of the four,  Jet Robot (a jet) has four smaller jets, Police Robo (a police car) has four motorcyles, which makes sense. But then, Fire Robo (a firetruck) has four amulences! and you just tell that they are female.  That is just strange, the designer must of had a bad lunch or something.
Then we have the enemy, we have this kid who for some reason interupts our young heros by sending robots called "disasters" and they are round balls that transform into similar looksing monsters, then Machine Robo creates a "zone" which is a self-contanted area to fight in, however for some reason the area inside the zone is much larger than the zone on the outside and it almost always looks like a studium, and as far as I can tell the kids don't pilot it in battle.
I'm none too sure if I will try to watch any more or not....and what is with the peom after battle?
